This 50th anniversary commemorative watch pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970
in recognition of the brand’s contributions to space exploration,
including the Apollo 13 mission. The 42 mm stainless steel case is presented on a blue nylon fabric strap,
whose embossed lining depicts the Apollo 13 flight path. The silver dial features angular blue PVD hour markers and hands,
and a silver Snoopy medallion in relief on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock. On the NAIAD LOCK caseback,
an image of the Moon’s far side has been decorated on the sapphire crystal using microstructured metallization. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a magical hand
that rotates when the chronograph function is activated. Behind it,
a disc representing Earth rotates once per minute, in sync with the watch’s small seconds hand. Alongside black engravings on the caseback honoring Apollo 13 and OMEGA’s Silver Snoopy Award,
there is also a blue ceramic [ZrO₂] bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The watch, produced in an unlimited edition, is powered by OMEGA’s Co‑Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861
and is supplied in a special presentation box.
