In tribute to OMEGA’s legacy in space exploration,
this Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon features a 44.25 mm case in polished and brushed black ceramic. The polished bezel is also made of black ceramic and carries a tachymeter scale in Liquidmetal™. Under the front sapphire crystal,
the ceramic dial has been laser-blasted and includes a small seconds indicator at 9 o’clock
and a 60-minute and 12-hour counter at 3 o’clock. The hour and minute hands,
as well as the beveled indexes,
are all blackened and filled with black Super-LumiNova (green emission). The central chronograph hand is lacquered red for a distinctive touch. Visible through the caseback,
OMEGA’s hand-wound Calibre 9908 Co-Axial Master Chronometer has received a special “black edition” finish,
including a matte-black mainplate and bridges,
as well as black-lacquered engravings. The watch is worn on a black rubber strap with a lunar-surface pattern on the underside,
a ceramic folding clasp
and titanium lugs with a ceramic coating.
